Who You Reppin

When I was in high school I enjoyed playing many different sports and had much success with them. My success in high school led me to getting an opportunity to play sports in college which I really enjoyed. I can remember the great feeling of being apart of the team and feeling the sense of belonging to something. I can recall numerous amounts of times when the coaches would tell us to always be careful what we do or say because we are representatives of the university. Some of us took it to heart and others really didn’t care. As we walk daily with Christ we must remember that God also commissions us to follow the same motto. What that means is every place we go and everything we do must align with God.

If we are followers of Christ it’s probably not wise to cuss out someone in the grocery store or throw up a finger if someone cuts us off on the road. Instead let us remember that we are followers of Christ. We may not wear physical clothing that shows who we are associated with like a university, but we must clothe ourselves with the fruit of the spirit as we navigate through life. I encourage you to think about our Heavenly Father as you go day by day because we are all his representatives.

“And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”

Colossians 3:17 NLT

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

Galatians 5:22-23 NLT
